We have a vacancy in our Yak-52 syndicate. ZK-ADM was imported from Italy in March this year and has recently been issued with his NZ C of A.

He was overhauled in 2007 in Shakhty, Russia and then exported to Italy. He was assembled there, but not flown. We bought him last year, and shipped him here. ADM is the lowest hour since overhaul Yak in the country and flies like it.

We are a new, but well run syndicate made up mostly of aviation professionals and we are based at the Rangiora Airfield, just out of Christchurch.

We are still refining the costs, but we have worked out some budget figures:
• The aircraft will cost is $15 500
• A monthly cost of $130 each per month.
• Flying cost is currently $60 an hour plus fuel, but that is likely to be adjusted as we get experience on the running costs.
• Hours are charged monthly on air time.

These figures cover maintenance provision, insurance, hangarage and engine replacement.

Amongst the guys we have so far are an Aircraft Engineer and an A Cat and D Cat Instructors, so ratings can be done in house.

These are lovely ‘war bird’ aircraft to own and fly, rugged and great fun… easy to fly and land.
